Agricultural land and property - North East

Land prices increased by 48% on year ago levels, compared to 53% in the previous half.

Demand in both the residential and non-residential sectors continued to increase, but at a slower pace than in the previous half. The slowing in the pace of demand was particularly acute in the residential sector, although in both cases demand increased at the slowest pace since Q2 2006. Land availability picked up in both sectors, although at a much faster pace in the non-residential sector.

Individual farmer's share of purchases jumped sharply from 45% to 61% and this was offset by a fall in the share of non-farmers urchases from 43% to 27%.
