Agricultural land and property - North West

Land prices increased by 33% on year ago levels, compared to 25% in the previous half.

Demand in the non-residential sector continued to increase, but at the slowest pace since Q2 2006, although this is still well below the survey’s long run average. Demand in the residential sector declined for the first time since Q4 2005. Land availability picked in the non-residential sector, while it declined the residential sector.

Agricultural businesses share of purchases jumped
sharply from 1% to 21% and this was more than offset
by a fall in the share of non-farmers purchases from
41% to 17%. Individual farmer’s share of purchases fell
slightly from 53% to 52%.
