Agricultural land and property - Scotland

Land prices increased by 20% on year ago levels, compared to 34% in the previous half.

Demand for non-residential land continued to increase, but at the slowest pace since Q4 2005, although this was still slightly above the survey's long run average. In the residential sector, demand declined (also for the first time since Q4 2005). Land availability picked up slightly in the non-residential sector, while in the residential arena, it remained flat.

Individual farmer's share of purchases jumped from 59% to 65% and this was largely offset by a fall in the share of non-farmers purchases from 30% to 25%.
