Agricultural land and property - South East

Land prices increased by 36% on year ago levels, compared to 25% in the previous half.

Demand for farmalnd in the non-residential sector gained further momentum, increasing at the fastest pace in the survey's history (1999). In the residential agricultural land sector, demand fell for the first time since Q4 2005. Land avalibility picked up in both the residential and non residential sectors, although the increase was far more pronounced in the former case.

Agricultural businesses share of purchases jumped from 4% to 10%, and this was more than offset by a fall in non-farmers share of purchases from 39% to 31%. Individual farmer’s share of purchases remained stable at 46%.
