Agricultural land and property - Wales

Land prices increased by 33% on year ago levels, compared to 21% in the previous half.

Demand continued to increase in both sectors, although the pace of demand gained further momentum in the non-residential sector. In the residential sector, demand increased at the slowest pace since Q4 2005, well below the surveys long run average. Land availability picked up firmly in both sectors, but at a much faster pace in the nonresidential sector.

Individual farmer’s share of purchases jumped sharply from 46% to 61% and this was more than offset by a fall in the share of non-farmers purchases from 40% to 24%.
