Agricultural land and property - Yorkshire and Humberside

Land prices increased by 64% on year ago levels, compared to 26% in the previous half.

Demand for non-residential agricultural land gained further momentum, increasing at the fastest pace since H1 2007, while demand for residential agricultural land declined. Land availability picked up in the non-residential sector, but at a slower pace than in the previous half. In the residential sector, availability declined for the first time since H2 2006.

Individual farmers and non farmer’s share of purchases fell respectively from 69% to 65% and from 24% to 23%. These falls were offset by a pick up in agricultural businesses share from 1% to 7%.
