Agricultural land and property - West Midlands

Land prices increased by 47% on year ago levels, compared to 27% in the previous half.

Demand in both the residential and non-residential sectors continued to increase, but at a slower pace than in the previous half. The slowing in the pace of demand was more acute in the residential sector, where it fell below the survey’s long run average, but it still remained firm nonetheless. Land availability increased at a broadly similar same pace in both sectors, having been stable in the previous half.

Individual farmer’s share of purchases jumped sharply from 48% to 62%. This was largely offset by a fall in the share of non-farmers purchases from 36% to 24%.
