Building Land for Sale
When we talk about 'building land' we really mean land for sale that already has some level of planning permission attached to it. As property prices have soared, more and more people have turned to self-build as a lower cost method of entering the property market by building their own homes. Now it's often very difficult to even locate a piece of land to build upon, let alone buy it.
Finding building land can be a highly competitive business and self-builders in particular are always seeking new building land for sale. This buying frenzy of building land has led to the establishment of a number of free and paid-for online resources which provide listings of building land available.
One of the best places to purchase building land is an auction and, as long as you are not limited by location, you can still snap up a building land bargain. Flexibility in location is the key as choice simply isn't always available. If you are planning on finding building land in an auction then be warned: you will need plenty of time, energy, perseverance, and you'll need to be thick-skinned as it can be a disappointing affair.
Estate agents and land agents frequently have building land for sale and you can expect to pay the market rate, which can amount to several hundred pounds per tenth of an acre. Again, location is the key word and this is a huge factor influencing price. Another factor is of course the level of planning permission obtained.
